As overseas markets tighten quarantine and environmental standards for bamboo, wood, and grass products, the domestic natural plant weaving industry is shifting from 'focusing on output' to 'emphasizing quality and strong traceability,' speeding up the standardization of the industry chain.
It is understood that overseas buyers are continuously raising requirements for pest quarantine, chemical additives, and environmental certification of weaving materials. The industry is gradually establishing raw material traceability management, including sun-drying, fumigation, and anti-corrosion/mold treatments for bamboo, rattan, and grass materials, strictly controlling the use of dyes and solid additives, and reducing harmful residues to meet green product access standards in multiple countries.
Beyond basic quality control, the industry is also optimizing the supply chain. Some production areas are consolidating scattered artisans, unifying design, raw material supply, and quality inspection, addressing past issues of uneven quality and unstable delivery from small workshops. On the cross-border front, the industry is leveraging cross-border B2B platforms to cut out middlemen and connect directly with overseas brand buyers, with the share of customized orders increasing year by year. Industry insiders note that future overseas green barriers may continue to tighten, so the industry needs to keep improving standardization, actively pursue international environmental certifications, and enhance long-term export competitiveness.
